Marketing and Branding

Tuesday 17th Novmeber 2015

We had two great guest speakers at the second meetup.

First up was Andy Hutt from Makerversity. Andy shared with us his experience of online marketing and branding. You can download Andy's excellent slides here.

Then we had Anthony Weiss who talked about his brand Thomas Clipper. Anthony talked about the importance of focussing on being something. He and Matt Brown, the founders of Thomas Clipper, changed their focus several times, but always made sure they had a focus. See the beautiful video that Anthony shared here on the Thomas Clipper website.

On the subject of social media for a crowdfunding campaign, you might be interested in a couple of blog posts I wrote during my own Kickstarter campaign. Among other things, I looked at how successful crowdfunding campaigns have used social media, and I wanted to see if there was a correlation between social media followings and success. You can find them here and here.
